Tech Integration - Miscellaneous Resources for Experienced Users
These resources include innovative ways to use Chromebook apps and other web-based resources. Many of the tools described in this section are Web 2.0 tools in which students can collaborate with one another as well as with students around the world.
EPals Project Page This page allows you to search and join with classrooms around the world for collaborative projects. While highly recommended for social studies and world language classes, this resource can be used across all subject areas. Registration is required for participation in projects. Note: Students 13 and up may use personal email accounts to participate in a project, while younger students should forward emails to be sent to their ePals to their teacher. Skype in the Classroom This site allows you to connect with other educators and professionals, such as scientists and museum curators, to deliver live Skype instruction to your students. Classes can take a virtual field trip in which they can ask questions directly to a person at a primary source. Some lessons will require only one webcam while others may require 1:1 devices. Scratch Scratch is an interactive computer programming community in which users can create, share, and reinvent ideas. Even if you are new to computer programming, you can search for templates such as animations and quizzes and save them to your own account for later editing. Students can create Scratch accounts and create their own animations and quizzes. Some basic computer programming skills may be needed if using Scratch with younger students.
